I really admire the Gorillaz. Yeah, I am aware they are a fictional internet band created by a cartoonist and artist. Still, I'm all sparkly eyed for them. They have a great concept, hidden identity. The Gorillaz is a group of animated moneys with basically weird characteristics and life stories, but somehow they're selling millions of albums and growing in popularity. Now I admit they've been slowing down lately. Well, it's because they havent come out with any new material, but there are still plenty of obsessors (including me)

Okay, back to the conept though. Usually with rock groups, or any other group, you get image along with music. That's the "norm" and it's good because I usually like to see who I'm listening too. The Gorillaz prove how image could matter less. They're a bunch of misguided cartoons who look everything but normal. Still, they're lyrics speak to so many and they're music is so innovative and special. It's pretty amazing to me.

I'm trying to live by the Gorillaz concept. Instead of caring so much about my looks (obviously I still care, im not walking around in a card board box) I want to try and focus on the words coming out of my mouth or the things that I'm trying to do. It's been working for me so far and it's kind of fulfilling.

Gorillaz also kind of control my icon and profile picture. I relate to 2D alot (they really do have life stories and all--look em up) and he's a strange faux inspiration for me next to some chosen few. He 'writes' soem pretty intense interestig lyrics that I seem to shake my head "yes" to. Like 'Yeah, I get it'.

Just wanted to share my thoughts on them. Hah.
